HiTech is a Detroit-bred triple-threat collaboration between rapper-producer-DJs King Milo, Milf Melly, and 47Chops. HiTech is putting a modern twist on Detroit’s electrifying ghettotech sound with a mouthful of Hennessy and a double dose of booty-shaking techno. HiTech has performed across the midwest from venues in Detroit, Chicago, and Cleveland to nightclubs and stadiums in New York City, Atlanta, and Denver.

Before their eccentric self-titled debut, HiTech organically formed as a group of young creatives who were bound together by their respective roots in Detroit. Beyond the Detroit-based influences that ground the group, an array of earlier influences find themselves rooted within HiTech. 47Chops spent time growing up in both Richmond, Virginia as well as in Cambodia during his early childhood, and he credits his dad— a hairdresser and musical artist who would burn CDs for his hair shows—for an early introduction to cinematic techno, referencing the Matrix soundtrack and Detroit’s popular New Dance Show. King Milo was also exposed to music at  an  early  age  at  the  hands  of  musical  parents—his  dad  was  a  full-time rapper-performer-comedian. Milf Melly recalls riding around with his mom and hearing musical influences that spanned rap subgenres from coast to coast, and later credits the video game GTA V for getting him into dance music specifically.

Influenced by midwestern dance music icons from the likes of DJ Assault, Moodymann, DJ Rashad, and more, HiTech began to fuse a new sound that transitioned the Detroit-based-ghettotech sound they loved into a modern era. High-technology 808s, illustrious melodies, vibrant synths, and fast paced, pitched up vocals weave together their debut project, HiTech. With a new album on the horizon for 2023, HiTech are well on their way to reimagining dance and techno culture and cementing a new quintessentially Detroit sound.

HiTech est une triple collaboration entre les rappeurs-producteurs-DJ King Milo, Milf Melly et 47Chops. HiTech donne une tournure moderne au son ghettotech électrisant de Détroit, avec une bouchée de Hennessy et une double dose de techno qui secoue les fesses. HiTech s’est produit dans tout le Midwest, de Detroit, Chicago et Cleveland aux boîtes de nuit et stades de New York, Atlanta et Denver.

Avant leur excentrique premier album éponyme, HiTech s’est formé organiquement en tant que groupe de jeunes créatifs liés par leurs racines respectives à Détroit. Au-delà des influences de Détroit qui sont à la base du groupe, une série d’influences antérieures se retrouvent ancrées dans HiTech. 47Chops a grandi à Richmond, en Virginie, et au Cambodge pendant sa petite enfance, et il attribue à son père – un coiffeur et artiste musical qui gravait des CD pour ses shows capillaires – une introduction précoce à la techno cinématographique, faisant référence à la bande originale de Matrix et au populaire New Dance Show de Détroit. King Milo a également été exposé à la musique dès son plus jeune âge grâce à des parents musiciens – son père était un rappeur, un artiste et un comédien à plein temps. Milf Melly se souvient d’avoir fait du vélo avec sa mère et d’avoir entendu des influences musicales qui couvraient les sous-genres du rap d’un océan à l’autre. Plus tard, il attribue au jeu vidéo GTA V le mérite de l’avoir initié à la dance music en particulier.

Influencé par les icônes de la dance music du Midwest comme DJ Assault, Moodymann, DJ Rashad et bien d’autres, HiTech a commencé à fusionner un nouveau son qui a fait passer le son ghettotech de Détroit qu’ils aimaient dans une ère moderne. Des 808 de haute technologie, des mélodies illustres, des synthétiseurs vibrants et des voix rapides et pitchées tissent leur premier projet, HiTech. Avec un nouvel album à l’horizon 2023, HiTech est en passe de réimaginer la culture dance et techno et de cimenter une nouvelle quintessence du son de Détroit.
